Co2 diffusors and reactors

Co2 diffussors and reactors are used to get CO 2 dissolved in the water of your aquarium. There are many
diffrent types commercially available as well as DIY types or co2 reactors. The general principal is to get the CO2 to have as long a contact as possible with the water to give it time to dissolve. It is done in a few ways some of them quite complex others as simple as an upside down collection bowl or dome under the water that the gas will stay in till dissolved. Others use air type stones or power heads that that the gas is bubbled through to try and get a high contact with the aquarium water. We offer the more co2 devices for the planted tank than any other aquarium supplier. Co2 keeps algae in check and encourages accelerated growth in freshwater planted aquariums. Aqua Medic CO2 Reactor. The reactor introduces CO2 into the aquarium water. It is mounted on the inside of the tank. The special construction produces a very high CO2 diffusion rate, and automatically removes any unwanted gasses. The reactor is sufficient for an aquarium up to 125 gallons.

Used to break up the co2 into small particles ensuring proper diffusion in the water. A powerhead (pump) is used to take the co2 bubble in and push it against the biaballs. This effectively creates increased contact time of the co2 with your plants.

The mixture of co2 is important for adequate plants growth in your fish tank.
At normal levels of 1-5 bubbles per second co2 will not harm fish and will help plants grow fast.
When plants utiilize co2 many times you will see 02 coming off of the leaves. This is called pearling and is a wonderful sight to see. With adequate lighting and nutrients you will have a splended.

This Dupla Co2 diffusor is good for up to 60 gallons, has a built in bubble counter and does a fantastic job! We use this for some of our grow tanks. It is very sturdy! Here is Duplas description: The CO2 gas is passed through a fine-porous glass diaphragm and released into the water as a cloud of tiny gas bubbles. The clever physical trick with the atomizer: the gas bubbles are met by surrounding water movement as they rise, thereby releasing CO2 into the water. CO2 is now available to the plants.
